I want to take a minute to give a heartfelt review for Richwood Nursing & Rehab in LaGrange, Kentucky. My father was placed there during one of the most crucial stages of his dementia journey, and I can honestly say we feel so blessed to have found them. The staff has been on it before I can even turn around. They are kind, attentive, aware, and present. My father has only been there about two weeks, and so far, I do not have one complaint — and trust me, I am the one who will tell it. Lol. After everything my family and I have been through over these past three to four years, the level of care at Richwood has made me feel like I can finally breathe again. Watching someone you love go through dementia is truly one of the hardest things in the world. It is painful, confusing, exhausting, and heartbreaking. How do you know what to look for? What do you ask? How do you know when it is time? I was a mess. I have cried enough tears for everyone. That is also why I created Follow the Gold W — to help other families walking through this same journey. You do not have to do it alone. I have been there, done it, and lived every hard question that comes with it. For now, I am just deeply grateful. Richwood has given my father care, and they have given me a little peace. Thank you to the staff at Richwood. You may never know how much that means to a daughter who has been carrying so much. If we can get BossMan to smile….lol.
